brew kettle controller

not sure what i like more, brewing beer or making things for brewing beer. this setup uses the DSPR310D EZboil PID controller to ensure optimal temperature when mashing the wort and when boiling once grains are removed. i incorporated two power outputs on the side. One for the circulation pump, and one for the electric element. There are two temperature sensor inputs on the other side, with a switch to cycle between them as the EZboil is only capable of reading one input at a time.

the inside of the kettle shows the heating element on the bottom. You can also see where one of the temperature probes is located. That same probe has a quick connect on the outside of the kettle. The second temperature sensor i mentioned above is located on the bulkhead at the bottom of the kettle. when i was making the unit, i wasn't sure if there would be a temperature difference between the two sensor locations, but found that to not be the case. i have found the unit works great for me. i have limited space so wanted something as compact and simple as possible.
