the my house birdhouse

first one.. almost done but not. top roof vent is unfinished

side profile. made the mistake of cutting through one of the dowels used to join two pallet pieces. adds character

these birdhouses are loosely based on my own house. little did i know, i would be living in the very house as drew as a three year old. the floor bottom slides out from the back so the sheets can be changed for new guests.

the barn birdhouse and feeder

barn house feeder is specifically sized for chickadees..

sliding barn door in the back for cleaning out old nest or evicting the tenant

my lovely wife, being the avid knitter that she is, always has small lengths of yarn/string lying around the house. that combined with lint from the dryer, I figured the opened shelter portion on the left would be a nice spot to put said items. This way the birds can gather them up for building their nests. as you likely have guessed, the center portion is the dwelling portion, and on the right, bird seed can be placed for feeding the neighborhood birds. no reason to leave home.. my kind of spot.

curved gate

i was in need of a gate for the backyard, and as most things evolve, it started with researching different styles. most gates had an upward curve on the top but none seemed to have a downward curve. with a makeshift wood steaming setup and a lot of clamps, this is the result.
